A total of 1,275 patients have received prescriptions for Pfizer’s oral drug Paxlovid in South Korea, three weeks after the drug was introduced, according to the Central Emergency Response Headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Welfare on Tuesday, Yonhap News Agency reported.Among the 1,275 COVID-19 patients, 961 were treated at home, followed by 221 at infectious disease hospitals and 93 at isolation treatment facilities.Since the drug was introduced to South Korea on May 14, the age limit for taking the drug has been relaxed from 65 to 60 years old, and COVID-19 patients aged between 50 and 59 with underlying diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, chronic lung disease, cancer and obesity) will also be covered from May 7.Source: Jiemian News
